Hey there, my name is Paul Jamison.
I was introduced to golf at the early age of two and a half. For me, the game started as a way to spend quality time with my grandpa. Those early days out on the course with him built a foundation and a bond I’ll always cherish. By my freshman year of high school, I had gotten fairly good—making the varsity team, playing all four years, and eventually playing off a six handicap.
But when I went off to college, I was young and didn't fully appreciate my upbringing in the game. Golf took a back seat, becoming a casual hobby I only played once or twice a year. After graduation, "real life" set in. Between a lack of time and money, the good old days of playing regularly were over. I didn’t even own my own clubs for a while and had to rely on borrowing from my buddies.
What Inspired Me to Pursue Golf Content
Everything changed in 2023 when the golf bug bit me again. I bought a starter set of clubs off Amazon, started playing more, and completely fell back in love with the game. In 2024, my life really shifted when I moved to Florida—the golf capital of the world. I wanted a way to document my journey of getting my game back and improving, which inspired me to launch my YouTube channel, Paul Jamison Golf.
I quickly realized there’s a massive community of golfers all over the world just like me: passionate players looking for real, practical ways to lower their scores. That realization shaped my entire approach to content. Instead of the typical swing overhauls, I focus heavily on smarter decision-making, better course management, and practical practice routines that actually move the needle.
My Long-Term Goals for the Brand
By living out what I teach, I've managed to get my own handicap down to under a four for the first time in my life. It's a huge blessing to share these strategies and see them help others.
My long-term goal for the channel is simple: to keep sharing the most value-packed videos possible to help golfers reach that next level, which ultimately makes the game a whole lot more enjoyable. I’ve never really cared for the old, grumpy, arrogant style of golf instruction. Instead, my goal is to bring a relatable, fresh atmosphere to my videos. I just want to be myself and share common-sense instruction that’s easy to understand and easy to apply the next time you're out at the course.
